GLORY 110: Trindade and Demirkapu Fight for Vacant Featherweight Crown

GLORY returns to Belgium on Saturday, October 17th, as Lotto Arena in Antwerp hosts GLORY 110. The main event will crown a new featherweight world champion, with Portugal’s Miguel Trindade facing Belgian-based Turkish contender Deniz “Bad Boy” Demirkapu for the vacant title following longtime champion Petchpanomrung’s retirement.
It is GLORY’s first event in Belgium since GLORY 94 in August 2024, which sold out the same venue. This time, the championship headliner gives the Antwerp crowd a chance to see a locally based contender fight for one of the promotion’s biggest prizes.
Trindade Gets Another Opportunity at Gold
Ranked No. 1 in the division, Trindade enters with an announced record of 65–8, including 26 knockouts. The Portuguese contender has already competed for a world title and reached a grand prix final, building a résumé that includes victories over Bobo Sacko, Kento Haraguchi, Berjan Peposhi and Chadd Collins.
Those results make Trindade an established contender rather than a newcomer to the championship picture. Saturday offers him an opportunity to turn that experience into a world title and establish himself as the featherweight division’s new leader.
Demirkapu Chases a Home-Crowd Triumph
Demirkapu is ranked No. 2 and brings an announced record of 18–5 with 11 knockouts. Three consecutive victories have made 2026 a breakthrough year, earning him a title opportunity in his adopted home of Belgium.
Originally from Turkey, Demirkapu has made clear how much the setting means to him. In GLORY’s announcement, he described fighting for a world championship in Belgium as a “dream scenario” and promised to bring the belt to both Belgium and his native Turkey.
That gives the main event its central storyline: Trindade’s established championship credentials against Demirkapu’s winning momentum and local support. With the previous champion stepping away, neither man is trying to dethrone an incumbent—they are competing to define the division’s next era.
Boapeah and Nechita Co-Headline
The light-heavyweight co-main event pairs Michael “The Timebomb” Boapeah with Romania’s Alin Nechita. GLORY’s card announcement lists Boapeah at 24–11–1 with nine knockouts, while Nechita brings a 20–4 record and eight knockout victories. Their meeting provides another significant international matchup beneath the featherweight championship fight.
The heavyweight supporting cast includes Nidal Bchiri against Nordine Mahieddine, Nabil Khachab against Ionut Iancu, and Sofian Laïdouni against Houari Zeghad. At featherweight, Berjan Peposhi faces Jeremi Monteiro, while Aimane Latifi meets Boban Ilioski at middleweight.
Irish middleweight Joshua Akingbade is also set to make his GLORY debut after building a 17–1 record with 13 knockouts. His opponent requires clarification: the September 30 card announcement named Albert Ugrincic, but the current event page lists Fernandez. The latest listing therefore differs from the earlier published lineup.
Superfight Series Adds Five More Bouts
The announced Superfight Series is led by an all-Belgium heavyweight contest between Asdren Gashi and Bouziane Kaddani. Gashi brings a 19–5–1 record with nine knockouts, while Kaddani is listed at 13–1, also with nine knockout wins.
The remaining announced bouts are Zino Verelst against Shefit Qose at welterweight, Florent Gautier against Abdelilah Azzouzi at light heavyweight, Kenny Moukpwo against Hamza Bouhanni at welterweight, and Noah Ibrahimi against Amine El Boujadaini at featherweight. Together with the eight main-card contests, that makes a scheduled 13-bout event across five weight divisions.
