KSW 122: Yakymenko Defends Bantamweight Title Against Morelli

XTB KSW 122 takes place Saturday, October 10th, at Hala Podpromie in Rzeszów, Poland.
The event is headlined by a bantamweight championship fight between defending champion Vitalii Yakymenko and number-three contender Marcello “El Diablo” Morelli.
Yakymenko’s First Defence
Vitalii Yakymenko enters the main event with an 11-2 record, including four knockouts and four submission victories.
The Ukrainian champion captured the KSW bantamweight title earlier this year in a closely contested split decision. He now makes the first defence of his belt against one of the division’s most dangerous challengers.
Yakymenko is known for a calculated, well-rounded style. He can compete across all phases of MMA, giving him multiple routes to victory against Morelli.
The champion will look to control the pace, avoid unnecessary exchanges and make the challenger work in areas where he is least comfortable.
Morelli’s Opportunity
Marcello Morelli brings an 8-4 record into his first KSW title fight.
Ranked third in the division, the Venezuelan-Mexican fighter has earned his opportunity with a strong run inside the promotion. Morelli is coming off a dominant unanimous-decision victory followed by a first-round TKO, giving him momentum heading into the biggest fight of his career.
Morelli has four knockout wins and one submission victory on his record. His explosive striking will be a major factor, particularly if he can force Yakymenko into sustained exchanges.
The challenger will want to make the fight fast and physical, while the champion is likely to prefer a more measured contest.
A Battle for the Bantamweight Division
The main event offers a clear contrast in styles.
Yakymenko has the broader skill set and championship experience, but Morelli’s finishing ability makes him dangerous from the opening exchange. The champion cannot afford to give the challenger extended opportunities to land clean combinations.
For Morelli, the task is to disrupt Yakymenko’s rhythm and turn the fight into a series of explosive moments. For Yakymenko, the priority will be to impose his pace and demonstrate why he holds the belt.
The winner will leave Rzeszów as the leading figure in KSW’s bantamweight division.

A First Title Defence Under Pressure
Yakymenko enters KSW 122 with the responsibility of proving that his championship victory was not a one-off result.
Morelli arrives with momentum, confidence and the kind of power that can change a fight instantly.
The champion’s composure and versatility will be tested against the challenger’s aggression and finishing threat. When the two meet in Rzeszów, KSW’s bantamweight title will be on the line and the division’s next chapter will begin.
