ONE SAMURAI 4: Haggerty Defends His Crown in Tokyo

ONE Championship heads to Tokyo’s Ariake Arena on Saturday, October 17th, for ONE SAMURAI 4—a major event featuring world-title bouts and action across kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA and submission grappling. The card is headlined by Jonathan Haggerty defending his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title against former champion Hiroki Akimoto.
Haggerty vs. Akimoto
Haggerty returns to Japan for his third title defence, aiming to extend his unbeaten run in the sport. Standing opposite him is Akimoto, a former divisional king fighting on home soil with a chance to reclaim the belt he lost four years ago. Their clash pits Haggerty’s movement and precision against Akimoto’s pressure and determination.
Two world titles on the line
The co-main event sees ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Nadaka Yoshinari defend his title against Malaysia’s Rifdean Masdor. Nadaka brings a 42-bout winning streak into the contest, while Masdor arrives hoping to deliver a major upset and claim the championship.
Tournament semifinals and more
The ONE SAMURAI Featherweight Kickboxing Tournament reaches its semifinal stage, with Marat Grigorian facing Luo Chao and Masaaki Noiri taking on Mohammad Siasarani. Both winners will move closer to a tournament final—and a shot at reigning champion Superbon.
The card also features several Japan-versus-Japan matchups, including Itsuki Hirata vs. Jihin Radzuan in MMA and Yuki Yoza vs. Nabil Anane in kickboxing. Beyond the fights, the event will honour Japanese star Takeru Segawa with an induction into the ONE Championship Hall of Fame.
With two world titles, tournament stakes and a homecoming title challenge, ONE SAMURAI 4 is set to be a landmark night for combat sports in Tokyo.
